CONSTRUCTION DESIGN  Vs SECURITY

Just like any market, the real estate development market follows design trends. Property developers tend to follow the latest cost effective and appealing building designs on the market. These trends are very dynamic and change every time and thus real estate developers tend to quickly assimilate them into thier own developments.

However some design trends don't address some of the important aspects of an ideal property like accessibility, security etc that developers should consider when setting up a development.

One of such trend is positioning water tanks support pillars or poles close to the perimeter walls (fence) which has become the new norm.
Although beauty and design are major factors to consider when building, Security of the development is another important aspect we have to factor in.

Talking to Mukibi James a security expert at sky vision security limited, he clearly states that:

" We can mount Cctv cameras at all the relevant points, install an electric fence, surround the fence with razor wire, but all this is made less relevant when water tank support pillars are positioned next to the preimeter walls."

It's a security bleach because thieves easily bridge the gap from the perimeter wall to the water tank stands due to the minimal space between the poles from the fence thus gaining access to the house.

Water tank support stands should be a reasonable distance from the perimeter wall Or should be availed space on top of the development.
It's no secret that a proper water flow network is paramount to any propery development and it's also common physics that water flows better from a higher altitude but we shouldn't let our love for beauty and design blind our eyes to security.
